 The Nigerian House of Representatives Wants To Remove The  Management For Disaster Agency from the 2022 Budget.

Following the failure of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Sadiya Umar Farouk, to appear before the Parliamentary Committee on Humanitarian Affairs to protect the Ministry's 2022 budget. The legislature has threatened to take "severe action" against the ministry.

The legislature could not approve the ministry's share if the minister did not respond to the invitation to protect the ministry's records. Chairman of the Budget Committee Hon. Muktar Aliyu Betara has called on the minister to appear before her committee to defend the budget or force the legislature to take decisive action.

Betara said the minister appeared before a parliamentary committee but preferred to send the ministry's secretary-general on her behalf. So far, the House of Representatives has said it will remove the commission from the budget if the minister does not appear.
