AUTHOR SALAM RUSHDIE WAS ATTACKED ON A LECTURE STAGE IN NEW YORK
Author Salam Rushdie was an Indian-born author who was tried to be killed by Iranians in the year 1980s. This attack happened on Today Friday morning in New York by a man who suddenly rushed to the stage where the author was to speak. In answering questions, the Police said the victim was hurriedly been taken to the local hospital by helicopter because he has been wounded in the neck.
The world's notable author Salam Rushdie who is seventy-five (75) years old, was attending a lecture series at Chautauqua Institution in New York as a guest speaker when the incident took place. The Police said a suspect charged the stage and attacked the famous author and the interviewer at almost 11a.m.
The male suspect was immediately taken into custody and Salam was carried to a tropical hospital. Salam Rushdie condition at this time was unidentified, a Police presentation said, and the interviewer, who wasn't mentioned, sustained a minor injury.

The reason behind his visitation to the Institution, Salam Rushdie was there to publicize on how the United States serves as Asylum for writers in banishment with Henry Resee, the co-founder of the City of Asylum, a venue program for writers in banishment according to the Institution.
