The Customs Agency in Apapa collected 790.6 billion in 9 months
The National Customs Service, NCS, Apapa branch, said it collected 790.6 billion naira between January and September 2022. The Comptroller, Malanta Yusuf, in charge of the area disclosed this at a press conference on Thursday in Lagos.
According to Yusuf, this represents a significant increase of 181.5 billion naira compared to the 609 billion naira collected in 2021, which represents an increase of 29.8 percent.
"This great success was achieved because of the courage of our officers to ensure that all thefts are prevented.
"This also shows how traders and stakeholders are following the rules of operations.
On the fight against smuggling, Yusuf said that anti-smuggling activities are one of the things that the army has focused on, especially the activities of some unrepentant businessmen, who are always looking for ways to destroy the board structure.
