The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has assured Nigerians that the university teachers union will soon return to work after his intervention.

 The speaker of the parliament disclosed this in his meeting with the president of ASUU, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke, and other members of the union yesterday evening, Monday, October 10.

According to him, today Tuesday, President Buhari will explain how the reconciliation process went.

The ASUU national president added: "For the first time, we have seen the light at the end of the situation." Here are 3 things that ASUU will do before announcing the withdrawal of the strike.

 1, Today, Tuesday, October 11, 2022, the regional leaders of ASUU will discuss the recommendation of Speaker Gbajabiamila to President Buhari to end the strike.

 2, Tomorrow, Wednesday, October 12, 2022, after the speech that President Buhari is expected to make today (Tuesday), ASUU will meet with all its members to decide on Buhari's words and decide whether they agree.

 3, On Thursday, October 13, 2022, the ASUU Executive Council will sit to review the proposals of its members and make the final decision.

 If everything goes well, by Thursday night or Friday morning, the general strike will be called off.
