 When Arise TV apologized for spreading false news about Tinubu, the chairman of NBC, Balarabe Ilellah, said NBC took this step to become a red flag for other media.


 The NBC in Nigeria has revealed its decision to fine the independent Arise TV station in the country for 2 million naira as a warning to other media outlets when giving more information about the ongoing situation to the Voice of America.  and drawing praise and criticism at the same time,


 This is two days after a false story allegedly spread by the television about the candidate for the presidency of Nigeria under the shadow of the ruling APC party, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu,


 Some Nigerians are already welcoming this action by the NBC while others are criticizing it and linking it to the violation of the right to freedom of expression contained in the constitution of the country.
