Liverpool Football Club has been put on the market
Fenway Sports Group (FSG), the owners of Liverpool FC, have put the English Premier League club on the market.
The company plans to pitch the group to potential buyers, and is working with Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley to broker it.
According to reports, the decision to sell the team comes months after Chelsea Football Club was sold for £4.25 billion.
The American sports company bought Liverpool FC from George Gillett and Tom Hicks in October, 2010.
As of May 2022, Forbes values Liverpool at $4.45 billion (£3.89 billion). But with Chelsea sold to LA Dodgers Todd Boehly for £4.25 billion earlier this year, the Merseyside club could demand the same price as Chelsea.
In the past, FSG has received offers from three other companies that have expressed their interest in investing in Liverpool.
The company said that the door is always open to these offers and that it is ready to consider them, if the right conditions are considered.
