Mubarak  The Comedian Court Sentenced The Punishers To 20 Whips Each For Insulting Governor Abdullahi Ganduje

A magistrate's court in Kano state has slapped some young people who publish videos on the social media platform Tiktok and Facebook with a fine of twenty thousand naira each and to clean the court for one month.

The BBC reported that the court made this decision after finding them guilty of defaming the name of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and trying to stir up trouble in the community, and the court ordered them to go back to the tiktok platform and make the video to the governor.  Ganduje is sorry for insulting him.

Young Mubarak Isa Muhammad, better known as Mu, and Nazifi Muhammad Bala, produce short comedy videos, where most of them imitate the voices of famous people.

Mabarak Unique Pidkin and his friend will also sweep the entire Norman Silance courthouse for a month.

The lawyer who filed the case, Barista Wada Ahmed Wada, told the BBC that he is arraigning the youths in court for crimes including defaming the governor of Kano state, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and trying to incite sedition.

Where they pleaded guilty and the reason why they were sentenced, the prosecuting attorney said that the youth were arrested last week where they were arraigned before the court, before they were sent to prison.

The youths are in the hands of the security forces until they fulfill these rules before being released.

Barista Bashir Yusuf Tudun Wuzirci is the lawyer of the young people and he thanked the Magistrate's Court for the lenient decision they made, so they did not challenge the decision.
