The police have deployed officers to prevent attacks on INEC offices in Adamawa
Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, Sikiru Akande, has deployed officers near the offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state to prevent possible attacks, as reported by Yola24.
.
This was contained in a statement issued by the public relations officer of the force, Suleiman Nguroje, yesterday in Yola.
He explained that the deployment of the troops shows the IGP's intention to provide better security and ensure a good political environment in the state.
"This deployment will certainly help in monitoring INEC assets, prevent any attempt to break into the premises of INEC, coordinate the appropriate response to distress calls and deter those who break the law.
"Similarly, the CP ordered the regional police officers and the regional commanders they are monitoring, to immediately send their officers to the INEC offices in the appropriate places," he said.
