A court has sentenced a young woman to death in Kano state.
A state high court sitting in Miller road Kano under Justice Amina Adamu has sentenced a young woman named Aisha Kabir to death after more than a year of her trial for allegedly killing a maid. by the name of Bahijja Abubakar.
Aisha was accused of killing Bahijja by stabbing her in the neck after an argument between them. The conflict started when A'isha called Bahijja by the name of "Karuwa" which led to a dispute between them until Bahijja lost her life due to a knife that Aisha stabbed her.
In today's court session, Wednesday, Mai Sharia read the events that happened earlier in the case, where the court finally declared that it found the suspect guilty and sentenced her to death by hanging.
Barr Auwal Abubakar Ringim, the lawyer defending the accused, stated that they will not say anything about the appeal until they sit down and study.
"What happened was that there was an argument between the deceased and the convicted, later the deceased and her friends went to the work of the convicted and started beating her and the fight broke out here. that's what happened'' said Barr Auwal Ringim.
On their part, Bahijja's cousin, Danlami Abbas, expressed his happiness with the decision of the High Court against the accused.
"Alhamdulillah, I am grateful to those who contributed until the end of this case, and we are satisfied with this decision."
Attorney for the government Barr Lamido Abba Sorondinki also stated that they are satisfied with the decision made by the court.
"The right of the court, every time justice is done, and we are satisfied with what the court has done, and we hope that this will be a sign for other people," said Lamidho.
