Education \sBola Ahmed Tinubu first attended St. John's Primary School in Aroloya, Lagos. He also went to Children's Home School in Ibadan.
Tinubu moved to the United States in 1975. He went to Richard J. Daley College in Chicago, Illinois, and then to Chicago State University, where he got a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1979.

Politics

Before Bola Tinubu got into politics in 1992, he worked for American companies like Arthur Andersen, Deloitte, Haskins, & Sells, and GTE Services Corporation. When he went back to Nigeria in 1983, he worked for Mobil Oil Nigeria.

Bola Tinubu was elected to the Senate on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), where he represented the Lagos West constituency. However, the elections were canceled in 1993, when the military dictator Sani Abacha was in charge.

After Sani Abacha's death in 1998, civilian rule began. Bola Tinubu ran for Governor and won on the Alliance for Democracy (AD) platform in 1999. He stayed in office until 2007.
