Buhari Sends To Congress The Complete Budget Of 819.5 Billion Naira

President Muhammadu Buhari has sent an additional budget of 819.5 billion naira to the National Assembly for approval.

It is expected that the budget will be financed through domestic revenues.

This will increase the budget deficit to 8.17 trillion Naira.

According to a letter read by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila in the House of Assembly on Wednesday, the additional budget will solve the food crisis, following the severe floods that have occurred across the country and the economic crisis.

The President said that the additional budget was prepared based on the need to complete the important projects of the Federal Government, such as dams and highways.

On December 31, 2021, Buhari signed the 2022 budget bill of 17.126 trillion Naira after his senior special assistant on the Senate, Senator Babajide Omoworare, presented it in the House of Assembly.

The President said that he will look back at the Legislative Assembly on the need to amend it to see that the important projects that his government has put forward have not been reversed as a result of the reduction of the expenses.

He added that, during the presentation of the 2022 budget resolution, he stated that the budget will be very important in his government's efforts to complete important projects and improve the lives of all Nigerians.
