Five people died in an accident involving the governor's motorcade in Mubi
It has been reported that five people lost their lives in a car accident involving the campaign convoy of Adamawa state governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
The accident involved a Toyota Hilux carrying a team of vigilantes, accompanying Governor Fintiri on his way to Mubi town to conduct the 2023 gubernatorial election campaign around Fadama Reke, in Hong local government.
The source of Yola 24 stated that the accident happened due to over speeding, where the car used by the head of the Fintiri vigilante veered off the road.
A source said: "The dead bodies of three people were kept in the car, including Bako Kaura, the head of the security forces of the PDP party and a Kaura man named Adamu, they were kept in the room mortuary of the Hong Federal Hospital.
"Five people in the car, who were injured, were taken to the Government House ambulance and an unmarked Hilux for treatment at the health centre.
Governor Fintiri, who also helped coordinate the rescue operations, is deeply concerned about the tragic death of his convoy despite reports that he continued on his way.
