 Politicians are buying PVC cards from voters, said the Chairman of the Electoral Commission -INEC


 Ahead of the 2023 elections, the National Independent Electoral Commission, on Monday, accused some politicians of buying permanent electoral cards and putting money on voters to harvest Voter Identification Numbers.


 The commission also said that two people were recently sentenced for illegally possessing election cards in Sokoto and Kano states.


 Yola24 reports that the Acting Chairman of INEC and the National Commissioner in charge of the Federal Capital, Abuja, Nasarawa, Kaduna and Plateau, Mohammed Haruna, disclosed this in Abuja, today Monday, during the launch of the organization's #YourVoteMatters program.  election observers, NESSACTION.


 The project was supported by the International Foundation for Electoral System;  The US Agency for International Development and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.


 It aims to assist INEC in increasing the number of PVC ballots collected ahead of the 2023 general election and the number of voters gathered on election day.


 The INEC national commissioner also warned voters to stop interfering in the ownership of PVC.
