Six members of the same household have died after they allegedly ate food that was allegedly contaminated in Mowe area of Obafemi Owode local government in Ogun state.
The deceased, including Adeleke John Samuel, a chartered accountant, his wife, Pamela Adeleke, their two children and two of their relatives, were found dead early on Friday morning, according to newspaper reports. The Eagle Online revealed.
The report added that the incident happened when Lawal Ojo, the guard of the house, suspected that there was something wrong after he heard that the house was quiet in the morning, unlike the usual noise.
"He informed their neighbors, when they broke into the house only to find their bodies in different rooms," said the report.
"All of them are in a state of sleep, said the source, which indicates that they may have died in their sleep."
According to the report, Ifenatuora Ijeoma, who witnessed the incident, said that they may have ingested poison while they were having dinner.
She confirmed that, after checking the kitchen equipment, a dead mosquito was found in the soup pot.
