The majority of Muslims in Britain and Wales live in extreme poverty.


 England The majority of Muslims live in areas of England and Wales that have extreme poverty, as the British Census Bureau stated today Wednesday as reported by Yola24.


 Muslims now make up 6.5 percent of the population of England and Wales, an estimated 3.9 million in 2021, according to the latest ONS census.


 However, the data shows that 61 percent of them live in the lowest 40 percent of the areas that have been deprived, said The Guardian.


 Tower Hamlets, considered to be one of the poorest boroughs, had the highest proportion of Muslims in England and Wales in 2011. The 2021 census shows that they are now 39.9 per cent.  of the local community.


 Currently, 4 percent of Muslims live in 20 percent of the weak areas.


 Policymakers have been urged to tackle the "cycle of poverty" affecting Britain's Muslim communities, whose numbers have grown by 1.2 million in the past decade.


 Secretary of the Muslim Council of Britain Zara Mohammed told The Guardian: "We are now the second or third generation (Muslims).


 “There are many others here, but still we are in this situation of poverty and deprivation.
