I Will Defeat Zulu Easily, Says The Governor's Candidate

The Borno State governorship candidate in the ADC party, Hajiya Fatima Abubakar, said she is confident of defeating Governor Umara Zulum and winning the governorship election to be held in March 2023.

Fatima is the only woman who ran for governorship in the state.

She told the News Agency (NAN) in Maiduguri that she will be fighting Zulum and the country as on Wednesday she started door-to-door canvassing to seek the support of the people of the state.

She said that she is getting more support and popularity among the state's people, and she is on the way to winning the upcoming election.

"I am gaining popularity with more fans, especially young people and women who believe that I will bring positive change in their lives.

"I want to appeal to the women and young people that we are in touch with, that they should also convey my message to others on the need for women to be tested in this contest in order to achieve change," she said.

She also denied the rumors that she withdrew from her candidacy because her campaign photos were not seen on billboards.

"We are preparing for a special rally," said Fatima.

While she called for a peaceful election campaign, she urged other candidates to drive according to the rules and respect each other and their opponents.

"We should work for the betterment of Borno and not for our own sake, and we should respect the people's choice," she said.

Aminiya reported that only 16 women are seeking various positions out of 280 candidates who will compete in the 2023 elections in Borno.

Fatima will add 11 candidates in the state governorship election on March 11, 2023.
