2023 ELECTION WORK: Anyone Who Will Work For INEC Must Take An Oath Not To Support Any Party Or Candidate, Says Yakubu

The National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said that all the temporary staff it will hire must take an oath that they will not show support for any party and will not show support for any candidate.

This was stated by INEC Chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu when he was reviewing the training being given to some election officials.

He said that they must take the oath before each of them is sent to the place where he will go to do the election work.

Yakubu said that all INEC permanent and temporary staff are working for all Nigerians and Nigerians, not any party or candidate.

Yakubu told them that while INEC is determined to conduct an honest and fair election which has never been done before in the history of Nigerian elections, he added that it is the honesty and integrity of the election staff that will make the election successful.  evidence and influence.

He said that great care has been taken in hiring the workers carefully based on considering some characteristics and reasons.

He said that there is no head of the electoral commission in the world who can conduct elections by using only his office staff.  He said this is the reason why INEC has to hire temporary workers during elections.
