The public knows Beth Shuey as Sean Payton's wife. They both received degrees from Indiana State University. They first ran into one other when they were in college, fell in love right away, and began dating.

From the first minute they met, they fell in love. Everyone predicted that they would be married after graduation, so they dated all through college.

Who Is Sean Payton?

On December 29, 1963, Sean Patrick Payton, a former quarterback, and coach in American football, was born. He oversaw the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL) from 2006 to 2021, leading the group to its first Super Bowl victory in 2009.

Payton played quarterback while attending Eastern Illinois University and Naperville Central High School. While playing with the Leicester Panthers in the United Kingdom in 1988, he made his professional debut.

He held a number of assistant coaching jobs on the collegiate and NFL teams before being appointed as the eleventh full-time coach in Saints history in 2006.

He began his coaching career at San Diego State University as an offensive assistant. Payton has always been noted for his offensive prowess, leading any team in the NFL's first 100 games with more points (2,804) and yards gained (40,158) than any other team.

Only Bill Belichick, who has coached the New England Patriots since the 2000 season, has a longer single-team tenure in the NFL than did Sean Payton.

How did Sean Payton fare?

After the 2021 season, Sean Payton declared his retirement from the Saints. But he agreed to a renewal with the band in 2019, extending his contract with New Orleans through 2024.

Any football team that hires him will have to forgo a sizeable portion of their salary if he resumes coaching before then.

The New Orleans Saints' storied tenure with Sean Payton is over. Payton reportedly announced his resignation as the Saints' head coach in an article by NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.


Sean Payton and Beth Shuey's divorce

The couple had a very happy beginning to their marriage, but a number of factors caused things to start to go south.

They eventually filed for divorce when their relationship started to disintegrate. They spent 24 incredibly happy years together. But in the end, they disintegrated.

The couple had two beautiful children. After the divorce, Beth Shuey kept living with her children. They have a daughter and a boy. They had a girl as their first child, who was born in 1997. She is 23 years old and goes by the name Meghan. Their only child, Conner, is just 20 years old.

Personal Life

Sean and Beth moved to a residence in Mandeville, Louisiana, with their kids when Payton became the head coach of the Saints.

The home was ultimately found to have been built using inferior Chinese drywall, just like many others erected throughout the Gulf Coast in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Payton finally joined a highly publicized class action lawsuit against the manufacturer, Knauf Plasterboard Tianjin Co. Ltd.

The Paytons decided to move the family back to the Dallas area in 2011 after having issues with their Mandeville home.

They consequently purchased a home in the opulent Vaquero Club in Westlake, where the Jonas Brothers, Josh Hamilton, and other PGA Tour players also reside.

During the 2011 Super Bowl weekend, there were rumors that Payton would rejoin the Cowboys as the General Manager or in another senior role, but they turned out to be unfounded.

He had a holiday house in the New Orleans area at the time, but his family was permanently residing in Westlake, which was reached after taking a 90-minute privately chartered flight.
