BREAKING: CBN Orders Nigerian Banks To Start Accepting Old 1,000 And 500 Notes From Customers

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has urged banks to start accepting old N500 and N1,000 notes from customers.
This was disclosed by Osita Nwanisobi, the spokesperson of the central bank on Friday, where he stated that no amount above N500,000 can be deposited.
This development is coming at the same time as the anger that has been expressed across the country regarding the rejection of bills that President Muhammadu Buhari has declared as illegal.
In his national news program, Buhari urged Nigerians to hand over the old N500 and N1000 notes to the CBN.
Nigerians flock to major banks to deposit their old notes.
While the bank officials were trying to convince the people, they sent them to commercial banks but the people refused.
