The presidential candidate under the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu received the full support of a Fulani organization called Fulbe United for Peace and Development (FUPD) at a meeting held on Sunday at the ICC conference hall. in Abuja.
The meeting took place in collaboration with the Northern New Agenda, this follows special meetings that Tinubu has been holding with stakeholders in different parts of Nigeria ahead of the upcoming election season.
While the Fulbe group emphasized their support for Asiwaju's candidacy, they relied on his efforts and role he played in the past when he was the governor in Lagos. They revealed 5 important agendas that the candidate should give importance to if God gives him success.
These important issues include; providing quality education to herders, providing special staff to monitor all issues related to herders, reviving and working with laws related to herding, providing herders with a national identity card and allowing them to compete with anyone as Nigerians.
In his speech, Bola Tinubu promised to look into all the issues related to the development of Fulani herdsmen. In the speech of the Chairman of Arewa New Agenda, Senator Ahmad Abubakar Mohallahyidi declared that this is an important meeting to support the government that will take care of the Fulani herdsmen.
Other speakers include famous scholars such as Dr. Aliyu Tilde, Prof. Ahmed Dan Fulani, Amb. Haruna Jika Ardo and others.
Also, Tinubu met with big and emerging businessmen from the Northern region at the Ladi Kwali conference hall at the Abuja Continental Hotel. He stated that he is ready to ensure that he finds the right investors to help expand business in Northern Nigeria.
Those who gave speeches included Alhaji Umaru Kwairanga (King of Fulani Gombe), Alhaji Rabiu Isyaka Rabiu, Maimuna Yaya Arabi and other big and emerging people in the field of oil, electricity, agriculture and others.
All the meetings were attended by the leaders of the APC national party such as the speaker of the Federal Assembly Femi Gbajabiamila, the governors of Jigawa and Kano, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, former minister Dr. Aliyu Modibbo, Barr. Abdullahi Mukhtar and Malam Jalal Arabi and others.
