Give me 7 days to solve the money problem in Nigeria - Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari has asked the people of the country to give him seven days to resolve the financial crisis that is being faced across the country, following the Central Bank of Nigeria's plan to convert large amounts of Naira into new ones.
Femi Adesina, the spokesperson of the President of the country in a statement, said that Buhari disclosed this during his meeting with the APC governors group today Friday at the presidential palace.
The governors of the APC party went to the presidential palace in Villa to seek a solution to the problem of financial instability, which they said is a threat to the achievements of the government in bringing about change in the economy of the country.
According to President Buhari, the reform of the currency will boost the country's economy and provide long-term benefits.
However, he expressed doubts about the commitment of banks, especially to achieve the success of the policy.
“Some banks are inefficient and only care about themselves.
"Even if one year is added, the problems related to hatred, selfishness and resentment will not go away," he said.
Buhari also said that he has seen reports on television about how citizens are suffering because of the problem of currency exchange, adding that in the remaining seven days of the ten days that have been extended to stop accepting old currency in order to overcome the situation.
