Greta Thunberg
Greta Thunberg has claimed that her activism does not necessarily bring her fame or wealth like that of other usual influencers, although at one point, as a result of winning an award, her net worth exceeded one million dollars.
Tuesday's demonstration outside a coal mine in a German hamlet resulted in the detention of the Swedish activist. The 20-year-old has been actively involved in the fight against climate change for many years. In 2018, she gained notoriety by staging a strike by skipping class and squatting outside the Swedish parliament.
She admitted to The Times that despite all of her efforts to protect the environment, the cause hasn't improved her financial situation.
THE NET WORTH OF GRETA THUNBERG WAS ABOVE $1,000,000
Greta claims she has donated all of her wealth to charity even though some websites estimate her net worth to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $100,000.
When the climate activist won the Gulbenkian Award for Humanity in 2020, she was given $1.15 million. The enormous wealth remained hers for a while, but she eventually donated everything she had.
Greta tweeted her gratitude for the honor, saying, "My foundation will immediately contribute the entire prize money of 1 million Euros to help. We're in a climate emergency."
The revenues I make will go to charity, she stated in an interview with The Times. Having money would be good, but only through donations. For instance, if I contribute it to nature preservation or rewilding, I can start a discussion about those topics. You can discuss the reasons why if I donate to refugees, and then you can give an explanation.
HER ONLY SOURCE OF INCOME IS THE STUDENT GRANT
One of the most powerful persons in the world is Greta. Even in 2019, she received the Time's Person of the Year award. Her only source of money is the student grant she receives to attend the institution, thus her renown does not equal her income.
She also received no financial benefit from the sale of The Climate Book. Since I'm not doing it for publicity, if I translate the book from English to Swedish, I might be able to receive some sort of compensation for the time I spent on it. Similar to a certain job,
"Artists or influencers can make money without people getting angry, but I can't," she continued.
When questioned about her $1 million secret riches, she explained that it was the money she received from the prize that she gave.
SWEDISH ACTIVIST WAS DETAINED AND RELEASED
Greta was temporarily imprisoned at a demonstration against the destruction of a village for the construction of the Garzweiler coal mine. After her identity had been confirmed, she was then let go.
When numerous people rushed to the ledge of an open coal mine, the cops hauled the activist away. Even one of them dove into the mine.
According to reports, 6000 people were in charge of the demonstration that was occurring a few kilometres from the community of Luetzerath.
