INEC Invites Presidential Candidates to the Meeting to Sign Their Approval for the Conduct of Elections in Cold Water

The Chairman of the National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu, said that all the presidential candidates will appear on Wednesday, to sign the agreement to allow for the conduct of peaceful elections, without violence.
Yakubu stated this during his meeting with journalists, after visiting the Garki Secondary School, Abuja, where training is given to Observers of Electoral Officers (SPO).
The Chairman of INEC also made a similar visit to the International Conference Center (ICC), where it is said that the states will send the results of the elections and collect them. Finally, the INEC chairman will announce the winning candidate, along with the results of each candidate.
Jacob said that the ICC will also be a Media Center.
Yakubu also said that INEC will not face the problem of lack of funds, based on the promise made by the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele to the Chairman of INEC when he visited him.
He said that most of the work that INEC will pay the workers will be done by transferring them to their bank accounts.
Speaking on the security challenges, he said that this is the work of the national security officers, and they have promised that no shortcoming will be allowed to cause the 2023 election to become an obstacle.
He said the National Peacekeeping Committee under former President, Abdulsalami Abubakar will organize the signing ceremony for the candidates on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at the National Convention Center- (ICC), in Abuja.
He said that INEC has completed preparations for the 2023 elections in peace.
