Nigeria: Buhari promises to end the trouble Nigerians are having because of the currency swap
President Muhammadu Buhari has thought about how hard things are for Nigerians right now because of the currency exchange policy, and he has promised to end the problems that the policy has caused.
He sent a message home from Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, where he was at the annual summit of the African Union (AU). In it, he said he knows how hard some government policies are, but that "by God's grace" they will make the country better, so he asked for more patience while the government took steps to ease them.
According to Mallam Garba Shehu, the president's spokesman, the president thanked Nigerians for electing him to be president for two terms. He also asked traditional rulers, religious leaders, and parents to tell their followers and children not to let a few people use them to start trouble.
"I'm going to assume that the government has done enough to keep everyone safe so that everyone can come out and vote. So, they are asking everyone to give them the help they need.
I'd also like to use this chance to thank Nigerians for electing me twice as president.
Lastly, I want to say again that I am fully aware of the problems you are having right now because of some government policies that are meant to make the country better as a whole.
