The National Electoral Commission (INEC) Says Elections Will Not Be Conducted In 240 Polling Stations In Five Nigerian States

XXXXX

The Electoral Commission of Nigeria has said that there will be no elections in about 240 centers in 28 states in the country during the upcoming elections, on February 25 and March 11.

The chairman of INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, said this on Monday during his usual meeting with the leaders of 18 registered political parties in Abuja.

The president said that the reason for this is that no voter has registered in these 240 centers.

He said the centers where the election will not be held are in Zamfara, Kwara, Edo, Rivers, and Imo states which are 38 states.

The professor said that after the 240 institutions where the election will not be held, all other institutions around 176,606 across the country will be elected.

The commission also warned that it will not accept a situation where one party will send more than one representative to the election center and cause confusion, saying that any representative found doing so will be arrested and prosecuted.  with him before the law.
