We Will Sue Anyone Who Refuses To Accept Old Money To Court, Lagos Governor Says

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has warned all those who refuse to accept old currency notes in the state to stop doing so or face the wrath of the law.
He said that the refusal to accept the old bills was against the decision of the Supreme Court.
The governor disclosed this in a statement issued by the commissioner of information and financial planning of the state on Wednesday.
The governor's warning comes after the Supreme Court adjourned the hearing of the case filed by some states challenging the Central Bank's mandate to February 22.
The statement added that "during the first court session on February 8, the court said that the old bills will continue to be used until it decides on the matter".
"The situation has not changed. Therefore, the state government is warning people who refuse to accept old money to stop doing so, otherwise they will face the wrath of the law.''
"It is against the law to refuse to accept old bills, and to do so is against the status of a court order."
