Adamu Aleiro Defeated Governor Bagudu in the Senatorial Seat in Kebbi
The former governor of Kebbi state, Adamu Aleiro, of the PDP, defeated the current governor of the state, Atiku Bagudu of the APC in the Kebbi Central senatorial seat.
The official of the National Electoral Commission (INEC) in charge of the election results, Prof. Abass Yusuf Sa'id said this on Tuesday morning.
He said Aleiro got 126,588 votes while Bagudu got 92,389 votes.
The election was held in eight local governments of Gwandu, Bunza, Aliero, Maiyama, Koko-Besse, Jega, Kalgo and Birnin Kebbi.
The election is considered one of the hottest in Nigeria.
