Fire Burns 80 Shops In Kurmi Market In Kano State
The Kano State Administration has said that a fire has destroyed 80 shops in Kurmi Market in the City Local Government Area of the state.
The statement on Wednesday signed by the spokesperson of the agency, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, said that the fire broke out at about 5:23 in the morning.
Abdullahi said the ministry received an emergency call from Aliyu Alkasim that there was a fire in the market.
The spokesman confirmed that the fire burned 80 shops, but fortunately there were no casualties and no one was injured.
He added that the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Abdullahi advised people to turn off the electricity and avoid using fire especially in the market premises.
News Agency (NAN), reports that Kurmi Market is famous for selling perfumes, oysters and leather goods.
