Stocks in European markets fell by more than a third

Shares in European markets fell more than three percent after investors' fears over the banking sector were rekindled by a crisis that saw a large chunk of the Swiss lender's shares sold.

The Dow Jones stock market in the United States experienced a setback in today's trading.

Shares in the Swiss bank plunged after the bank's biggest investor said it would no longer support it.

This comes after the collapse of the Silicon Valley Bank of America in recent days.
