The US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken arrived in Ethiopia
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, landed in the capital of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa on a two-country visit to Africa.
He was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Mesganu Agra.
It is expected that during the visit to Addis, Mr. Blinken will meet with senior officials of the country's government and the African Union, AU.
The main thing that will be discussed during the visit is the implementation of the peace agreement reached in November last year between the Ethiopian government and the Tigray rebels, the agreement that ended the brutal two-year civil war.
The rights groups demanded that Blinken put the issue of human rights and investigations into war crimes committed during the conflict.
After leaving Ethiopia, the secretary will go to Niger where he will discuss the growing threat of jihadists across the Sahel region.
