Demonstrators are putting pressure on the government in Tunisia
Hundreds of protesters filled the streets of Tunis, Tunisia, to pressure the government to release some 20 prominent opposition figures, who did not meet the president of the country, Kais Saied.
The people were arrested last February.
The French news agency AFP said the main opposition party National Salvation Front organized the protest.
The rebels accused President Saied of oppressing the citizens with a repressive style of government.
In July 2022, he sacked his entire cabinet and dissolved the entire country's parliament.
However, President Kais said that those arrested are terrorists, who threaten the security of Tunisia.
