Governor Nysome Wike of Rivers State has announced that he will end his tenure on May 29.
Wike made this statement at the prayer meeting organized by PDP Rivers State branch for Wike and held at Saints Anglican Cathedral.
"From the blind, only my enemies will say that I have not made significant progress across the state.
"If your politics does not seek to bring development to the people, then you are a big problem for your people. Now it's dawn on the electorate. You must report to the public within four years in 2027 on the progress you have made if you want them to re-elect you."
Wike attributed the success of the PDP in the state to the kind of land loss activities, orderly government, and the equality of men and women in his government.
He said that every local authority has a female Deputy Head of Local Authority, and there are five female councilors in each local authority. And there are female senators and female federal parliamentarians who were recently elected.
He then called on the elected governor of Rivers, Siminialayi Fubara, and the government he will establish not to stop wasting their time looking after the opposition.
