Hajj 2023: Men will pay N2.8m as seat fee

The Nigerian Hajj Commission, NAHCON, has announced that pilgrims will pay two million and 890 thousand naira as seat fees.

The head of the agency, Zikrullah Hassan, said this on Friday, when he said the problem of inflation in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia as factor that caused the increase in the cost of this year's Hajj.

Hassan said the price has reached eight levels, where Borno and Yobe states will be the states that will pay the lowest amount while Lagos and Ogun will pay the highest amount of two million and 990 thousand nairas.

This happened as a result of the difference in the cost of flight and accommodation in Makkah.

The people of the northern states of the country will pay two million, nine hundred and nineteen naira.

The southern states will also pay about three million.

Hassan said that the reason for the difference in money is that the northern part of Nigeria is closer to Saudi Arabia than the southern part of the country, and the kind of accommodation each state is looking for will show the amount of money they will pay.

He said the airlines that have been approved to transport men from the states include Air Peace, Azman, Fly Nas, Aero Contractors and Max Air while Arik Air and Value jet have been approved as private charter flights.
