Japan has agreed to start using abortion pills

The Ministry of Health of Japan has approved the use of the first abortion pills produced in the country.

At the moment, women seeking abortion can only do so through surgery.

The eggs, which are managed by a British company, can be used in pregnancies of up to nine weeks.

However, the medicine is still waiting for final approval, after the discussion on the price and the rules of its use.

This step is seen as a step forward in terms of allowing women to have a choice in giving birth in Japan.
