On Wednesday, October 5, Kerry Washington and her husband Nnamdi Asomugha welcomed their second child, a son they named Caleb Kelechi.

Kerry Washington is a mother once more.

Caleb Kelechi Asomugha, a son, was born to the Scandal actress and her husband Nnamdi Asomugha at 9:56 p.m. on October 5 in Los Angeles, according to PEOPLE.

Caleb joins his 2-year-old big sister Isabelle Amarachi.

"Kerry was ecstatic to become a mother of two. She was eager to grow the family because having Isabelle improved her life, a source tells PEOPLE. "Pregnancy is kind to her! She took excellent care of her physique by eating a very nutritious diet.

After being married in July 2013 and announcing the pregnancy of their second kid in April, Washington and former San Francisco 49ers cornerback Asomugha welcomed a second child. The 39-year-old actress debuted her pregnancy at the Met Gala in May while donning a sparkly Marc Jacobs gown and purple hair.

Since then, the chic Washington has been photographed wearing a number of looks from brands like Giambattista Valli and Brandon Maxwell that are suitable for expecting mothers.
