Laws of the Kingdom of Kano State which have been made for face correction
The Kano State House of Assembly has amended the State House of Commons Act.
Honorable Kabiru Hassan Dashi, Member of Parliament representing Kiru Constituency, and Deputy Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly told Majiyar Focus News Hausa, BBC what the new laws contain.
The member of parliament said that there are two laws, one is amended, while the other is new.
He said that the law that was amended was the law of the state royal council, where the law provides for reducing the number of members of the royal council from 30 to 17.
He also said that among the amendments to the law, from now on the state police commissioner, the head of the state DSS, the head of the Civil Defence, and the head of the group of leaders of the state's local governments, are all members of the state council of kings.
On the other hand, Honorable Kabiru said that a new law has been created for the kingdoms of Gaya, Karaye and Rano, where now the new law provides that only the natives of the kingdoms will rule in the kingdoms.
"Just as it is in the kingdoms of Kano and Bichi where the law stipulates that only members of the Dabo family will rule in the kingdoms", he said.
The member of parliament said that the kingdoms of Gaya, Karaye and Gaya have been conquered by some people who originally ruled the kingdoms.
"Now, for example, like the house of king Gaya, there is the house of Abubakar Sayyadi, the royal house of Rano and there is king Ila, the house of Karaye and there is the house of king Alu," he said.
According to him, these are the houses where the law says that only those who come from the roots of the houses will hold the title of the house.
