Parliament Summoned Maalami And Zainab Ahmed On Allegation Of $2.4bn Scam.
The House of Representatives committee that is investigating the alleged oil fraud up to 2.3 billion US Dollars has summoned the Minister of Finance, Budget and Planning, Zainab Ahmed and the Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami.
Also, the committee also summoned the Secretary of the Federal Government to appear before it as part of its investigation.
The chairman of the committee, Mark Tersee Gbillah, issued the summons during his sitting on Tuesday.
The committee is investigating the alleged sale of 48 million barrels of crude oil to China worth two billion and 400 million dollars from 2014 to now.
Mark said that they sent the summons to find out what role the Ministry of Finance and other agencies played in the alleged scandal.
He said, "It is unfortunate that the Minister of Justice and the Minister of Finance are not here.
"What we need is for them to appear before the committee because we have sent them an official request to do so, because most of what we are looking for is in their ministries.
