After a psychosis episode and a bipolar disorder diagnosis in 2018, a former "Wizards of Waverly Place" star was put on several drugs, but her psychiatrist took her off all but two of them.

Selena Gomez went to a mental health facility in 2014 after she was diagnosed with lupus. She later said that she also had bipolar disorder. Later in 2020, the singer told Elle Magazine, "My lupus, my kidney transplant, chemotherapy, having a mental illness, and going through very public heartbreaks were all things that should have brought me down."
