The Former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa who was shielded has been released
Bandits have released the former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Professor Onje Gye-Wado who they kidnapped.
Focus News Hausa source, Aminiya reported that the bandits released him before dawn on Monday after receiving ransom money from his family.
On Thursday, bandits stormed Professor Gye-Wado's home and kidnapped him.
Later, they demanded a ransom of seventy million Naira, but his family kept negotiating with them and asked for a reduction.
One of his family members stated that the ransom paid was close to four million Naira.
He said the bandits "collected the ransom money and a two hundred Naira phone card near Mount Mada Secondary School before later releasing him from his hideout near Mount Mada and Nasarawa Eggon."
From there he was taken to the palace of the Wamba prince, Oriye Rindre, Justice Lawal Musa Nagogo.
