Challenge the Election Results in Court, Ignore the Talk of Establishing a Transitional Government, Says the Northern New Agenda Group, ANA
The Northern Unity ANA called on politicians to challenge the election results in court if they are not satisfied with the results of the presidential election held in 2023, instead of creating unrest or creating conflict.
This issue came from the spokesperson of the group Senator Ahmad MoAllahyidi during a meeting with journalists on Wednesday, he warned states to avoid the issue of coup d'état or the establishment of a transitional government in Nigeria.
He explained that the presidential election that took place was peaceful and peaceful and the candidate who won the election was declared, so there is no question of establishing a transitional government.
ANA expressed its concern at such a time when the country needs healing, more unity to bring the country back to its former state. Some corrupt people are threatening the unity and stability of the country because of their failure in the last election season.
We can recall that on May 29, 2023, the DSS announced that it had identified some "stakeholders" who were involved in plotting the establishment of a transitional government in Nigeria.
According to the Commission, the owners of this program are planning to organize attacks and demonstrations in order to attract the attention of the court and stop the swearing in of the new government. This thought came to them after seeing how the 1993 issue of swearing in the interim government for some months was.
MoAllahyidi also added that they did not consider the differences between the previous two elections; The 1993 election was not a complete election as declared by the National Electoral Commission (INEC), and the 2023 election was completed even though a certificate was given to the president-elect. In this case, where is there any talk of establishing a transitional government?
The only thing left for anyone who is not satisfied with the results of the election is to go to the court and submit their complaints without causing any trouble because their contest was not successful.
After 2011, there have been no more clean elections and no riots like this one. The results of the election show the interests of the majority of Nigerians who went out and chose their opinions. Said MoAllahyidi.
He also added that, ANA has no choice but to declare some people as losers, because wherever they vote, we have rigged it, and the places where they win, we have clean elections.
The history of Zaire is full of examples of how the past elections were challenged, in fact, the election that was not challenged was not the one of 2015, in which there was a change of government without challenging it. Therefore, whatever the complaint, the law provides for such a matter, and it should be sought in the right way as provided by the national law.
