The Mali journalist returned home days after his disappearance
The editor of Mali's newspaper Le Democrate returned to his home on Monday after days of being missing, something the country's lawyers' association called "forced disappearance".
Aliou Toure is a prominent critic of the country's military regime - who has been calling for the release of national singer and activist Ras Bath, who has been missing since April 6, according to RFI news agency.
Ras Bath was detained and charged before the court last month, on the allegation that the military regime killed the former prime minister of the country, Soumeylou Boubeye Maiga - who was detained by the country's authorities in early 2022.
Mr. Toure's disappearance has attracted the attention of local media and human rights activists, who have been demanding information about the journalist's disappearance.
However, there are no details about Mr. Toure's alleged wrongdoing.
Freedom of expression has been on the decline in Mali since the military coup in 2020.
