The Nigerian government has given the Easter holiday

The Nigerian government has declared Friday, April 7 and Monday, April 10 as public holidays for the Easter celebrations of this year.

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Rauf Aregbesola, said this in a statement issued by the Secretary General of the Ministry, Shuaib Belgore, on Wednesday.

The declaration requires Christians in the country to imitate the characteristics of sacrifice, unity, forgiveness, mutual respect, love, peace and tolerance of Jesus Christ.

The minister also called on the Christian community of the country to use the Easter holidays to pray for the country to find peace and end the security problem the country is facing.
