13,000 people benefited from flood aid - Nigerian Government
According to the Nigerian government, the flood aid given out to the flood-affected areas has helped more than 13,000 residents.
At a meeting of the ministry's stakeholders on Tuesday in Abuja, the nation's capital, Dr. Nasiru Sani Gwarzo, the secretary general of Nigeria's Ministry of humanitarian affairs and disaster prevention, made this statement.
According to Dr. Gwarzo, "13,000 people have benefited from the federal government's support across the 16 states affected by floods in the country in 2020," according to NAN news agency.
Anambra, Bayelsa, Katsina, Kogi, Benue, Nasarawa, Kwara, Niger, Kebbi, Sokoto, Jigawa, Bauchi, Delta, Rivers, Adamawa, and Yobe are among the states that got relief.
This addition, according to Dr. Nasir Gwarzo, comes on top of support money that was amassed to run some significant projects in six local governments in the north-east and northwest of the nation, benefiting 27,432 individuals.
He continued by saying that the aftermath of the flood compelled the government to work with assistance organizations to assist in providing aid to the victims.
According to Darkat Gwarzo, the flood of 2020 resulted in the loss of life and property throughout the nation.
