Bert Kreischer was born Albert Kreischer Jr. on November 3, 1972, in Tampa, Florida. His father, Al, was a lawyer for real estate, and his mother, Gege, worked with young children. Bert went to Jesuit High School and, when he graduated, went to Florida State University, where he joined the Alpha Tau Omega club and studied English as his major. In 1997, when he was in his sixth year at the school, "The Princeton Review" put FSU at the top of its list of the best "party schools" in the United States. After the deal fell through, one of the writers changed Kreischer's name in the story to "Van Wilder" and sold it to National Lampoon. Career
Bert first did stand-up comedy at Potbelly's, a bar and lounge in Tallahassee. He sent a tape of his act to agent Jason Steinberg, who asked him to come to New York City to see a few stand-up shows.
