President Buhari Returns to "Glass House" and Stays
Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari has moved to a part of the Presidential Palace called "Glass House."
This was shown in a video that the first lady, Aisha Buhari, shared on her Instagram page. In the video, she welcomed the first lady of the president-elect, Senator Oluremi Tinub, and showed her around the presidential palace.
"Today, I went on a tour of the presidential house with Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who is the wife of the incoming president.
"We live in Glass House now. Only my husband and I live in the house." Aisha said.
Tradition says that the leaving President stays in this part of the "Glass House" in the days before he leaves office.
Aisha also said that the custom of keeping the outgoing president in this house should be kept up.
"We are thankful to God for showing us the end of our reign." The minute-and-a-half-long video shows what Aisha said.
On May 29, Buhari will give power to Ahmed Bola Tinubu, who won the election in February, even though the opposition is going to court to challenge the results.
