Doctors and aid arrived in Port-Sudan.
As the third week of the conflict in Sudan has passed, the first plane carrying eight tonnes of aid and medical supplies touched down there on Sunday morning.
The aircraft that left Amman landed near Port-Sudan, which is on the coast 850 km away from Khartun, the scene of the fiercest fighting. Out of the 4,599 people who have been recorded as injured since the start of the conflict, the supplies supplied by the jet include medicines that will enable the treatment of more than 1,500 of them.
The General Medical Association declared the suspension of all humanitarian actions owing to the fire's raging, which has caused the halting of activity in around 80% of the country's hospitals. As the situation in Sudan worsens, this relief is arriving at the same time.
