NUT Praises El-Rufai for Bringing Back 1,288 Dismissed School Teachers

The Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Kaduna state branch, has commended the government of Governor Nasir El-Rufai for returning 1,288 public school teachers who were sacked after the completion of the assessment test.

In a letter dated April 5, 2023, numbered NUT/GO/G7/Vol 4/732 bearing the signature of the Secretary of State, Adamu Ayuba Kaltungo, the organization commended the generosity shown to the member's dignitaries affected by this incident.

The NUT said that returning them to work will help a lot in bridging the gap between teachers and students in government primary schools.

It should not be forgotten that the Kaduna State Board of Education (KADSUBEB) fired 2,357 primary teachers as a result of the June 2022 examination, stating that 2,192 teachers were fired for failing the examination.

Last April, KADSUBEB brought back 1,288 dismissed teachers, on the grounds that after assessing and verifying their complaints, the state government agreed to reinstate 392 teachers, who wrote and passed the exam.
