1970
In an East Los Angeles family that is second-generation Mexican-American, Richard Cabral was raised. He got involved in gang activity at a young age. His family has been involved in the gang scene since the 1970s, he claimed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. He has a record of belonging to a gang in Montebello. He was taken away from his family as a child. At the age of 13, he was put behind bars for robbing a wallet. By the age of 15, Cabral had a crack cocaine addiction. As a teenager, he earned his GED, but he ran into legal issues once more. He received a prison term for a dangerous weapon assault and was freed at the age of 25.
2009
Cabral's buddies advised him to contact Homeboy Industries, a Los Angeles-based gang-intervention program, while he worked to change his life. He took action. Cabral made an appearance on the Southland television program in 2009. He had an appearance in the 2010 music video for "Grenade" by Bruno Mars.
