The Crisis in Sudan: Its Impact on the Education Movement Especially in Northern Nigeria

Going to study in another country for whatever reason is not a new thing in the world. Citizens of different countries go to another country to study, even if it is because of more knowledge in other fields, or because of the opportunities that their country gives to the poor, or for any other reason, including the lack of opportunities in their countries or the low quality of education in these countries. Nigeria is one of the countries where the citizens of the country go to other countries to study, especially post-secondary. Reasons for going to school vary by state, region, financial status, and establishment.
Sudan is one of the African countries that help the continent in training students, especially in medicine, experiments, and other fields of science, languages, and religion. The country of Nigeria especially the northern part and in the areas that benefit from the country of Sudan in many aspects, not only education, business, and marriage. A few days ago, the country of Sudan fell into an internal conflict related to power and minerals. The battle has put many people in the misery of life, many have lost their lives, and some have fled.
The countries that have their citizens in Sudan, especially those who live with the permission of the country, are evacuating their people. Now it should be said that Sudan is looking to go backward in every aspect because of the ongoing war.
A statistical estimate confirmed that there are 5,500 Nigerians studying in Sudan, and there are some three million who live in the country, all from Nigeria. Now that the war is trying to 'balance' the country, Nigeria is one of the countries that will feel the pain of the war in many ways. This means that any development that Nigeria gets from Sudan, it is necessary to look for a solution or a way to replace the gap until peace is achieved, the country is rebuilt, and people are calm until things settle down. This is the biggest challenge that needs to be faced.
Now it can be said that most of the Nigerians who are studying in Sudan are returning or they are fleeing to save their lives. The question here is, what is the future of these students? If the war is extended or if it takes a long time to find the security that will make the students go back, what will happen? The second thing is, are there enough schools and are they of good quality that can offer scholarships to thousands of students who have fled from Sudan? What provisions are the governments, especially in the north, making to reduce the pain this war will cause to Nigeria, especially in terms of the decrease in the number of professionals who graduate every year?
This is a big issue, immediate action should be taken because the effects will not show soon, but now action should be taken to prevent it. As soon as there is a delay in the graduation of experts in a field of national development, then whether it is good or bad, it will show. Education is an investment for the development of the country, the profit of the future, but it has to be planted abundantly, efficiently and sustainably. Northern states have a great role to play in finding ways to reduce the effects of the Sudan war in the future, especially in the field of education.
Call to the authorities who are involved in the development of the country, especially the education sector. From now on, we should sit down and find the bottom line in starting to provide ways to reduce the effects of this war, so that we don't become a 'father of foreign beards'. In the next few days, most of the governorates will have new governors and governors, so now the problem of the Sudan crisis should be included in the education development program, especially for post-secondary education. Countries such as Saudi Arabia have opened their educational system and introduced new strategies that will reduce the problems caused by the war in Sudan. We in this area have lost the number of students studying in the country, that's why we have to quickly find a solution.
This is a proposal for all of us. May God put an end to the problem and other wars wherever they are. Let's stand up from a young age.
