The PDP has told its lawmakers that they must stay true to the party.
Umar Damagum, who is the acting chairman of the PDP, told the 116 members of the federal parliament who were elected as members of the PDP that they must follow the PDP, which got them where they are now.
Damagum told them this on Tuesday when he met with them in Abuja. At the meeting, it was clear that the time for choosing the leaders of the two houses of parliament is getting closer.
The event is happening at a time when the race for Speaker of the House and Deputy Speaker is heating up.
PDP has 116 members, and they were split up when the Speaker of the House was chosen.
Many of them have joined the Maja group, which has agreed to follow the APC's acceptance-acceptance method for choosing parliament leaders.
Kingsley Chinda, a PDP member from Rivers, is the head of the Maja. Both he and Bello Kumo, who is also from Gombe State, are from that state.
Damagum said that he knows the PDP is fighting, but that the party can solve its own problems at home.
"You need to have courage. And be a good citizen. Then it's your party. The first is to obey the country because you can only be a member of parliament if you obey the country."

Gamayya, or "major," members of the National House of Representatives from eight different parties who will serve from 2023 to 2027 have decided to keep and follow the acceptance-acceptance system put in place by the APC to lead the House.

"Right now, our word to Nigerians is that we are ready to do the work of building up the country and making our lives better.
"If we want to make this good choice happen, we have to work with the Executive branch of the government, but they can't give up our rights as lawmakers or the rights of those who have them.
"What worries us the most is how united this country is, how peaceful and stable it is, and how good the 10th Congress is."
Aliyu Madaki, a member of the NNPP from Kano, said that the House of Representatives members will not decide who will be the Speaker. But they are only giving APC the chance to choose leaders based on the method that makes the most people happy around the world.
He said that in all democracies, the party with the most votes has the chance to get rid of the leaders of the government.
"As a member of the opposing party, I will fight hard, but not for myself. I will be against it so that we can keep what will help this country grow and be successful."
APC has 177 lawmakers, PDP has 116, LP has 38, and NNPP has 19. ADC has 2, SDP has 2, and YPP has 1.
Kumo from Gombe is the party's leader, and Kingsley Chinda from Rivers is the second chairman of the party. The Secretary of Maja is then Ali Madaki of the NNPP in Kano.
